Portfolio Management in Scrum@Scale

Scrum@Scale with an emphasis on Agile Portfolio Management.

Description

The purpose of this course is to examine the latest best-practice portfolio management techniques. This Scrum@Scale class includes examining outcomes versus outputs as a measure of success. We will cover techniques for decomposing outcomes into smaller pieces that can be delivered within Programs and Projects. The course outlines the use of metrics, targets and forecasting methods to predict future outcomes. We will examine an approach for establishing a portfolio management selection criteria, governance processes, communication strategies, and prioritization principles. The course ends with covering techniques for creating feedback loops and incorporating feedback to reprioritize the portfolio. Students will leave the classroom with an action plan to implement the techniques discussed.

  • The course is intended to be highly interactive; students will be encouraged to interject their challenges and concerns for discussion and redress during the session.
  • After leaving this class, students will be able to apply agile analysis techniques, including decomposition horizontal and vertical analysis.
  • This course is intended for those who wish to know the details of best-practice methods of portfolio management when working with multiple teams.

 Certifications:

  • This two-day course qualifies students to take the exam to become Certified Scrum@Scale Practitioners (CS@SP). After completion of the course and associated exam, students will receive their certification signed by Dr. Jeff Sutherland, creator of Scrum.
